Slaves of Depravity - Neo Sol - Year 2718
They told us that Neo Sol was supposed to be a fresh start. Some cosmic level reset that was going to provide the new lease on life that humanity desperately needed.
You see, centuries ago it wasn’t yet understood what the crux of humanity was to be. It was often that the normative debates over whose beliefs were more justifiable would be the focal point of conversation. It didn’t matter if the topic was religion, politics, or even the quality of life. Nothing was safe from skeptics and critics. Even better it was often that if you asked anyone about why they tote the belief they held you would be met with silence for an answer. At the end of the day, all these debates amounted to nothing more than noise.
It wasn't until the year of 2210 that this repetitive cycle was disrupted by the news that by the end of the next century the habitable conditions of Earth would plummet. The final reason for the decline was never quite discovered, and probably won’t ever be. Popular scientific belief was that centuries of mass shifts on the surface of the planet accelerated the speed of tectonic shifts. Regardless of if it was the plates fault or not it still led to an increase in planetary volcanic activity. With these eruptions, large amounts of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide gasses started to release into the atmosphere. A paradigm swap was being set in motion that would require humanity to adapt and embrace the upcoming reality.
In the wake of this news many started to surrender hope as they believed Judgement Day was upon us. Few began to immediately work on devising theoretical solutions that could help guarantee longevity of the current privileges known and experienced by the planet. As you would imagine, the astrologers and scientists who spearheaded these efforts quickly gained global traction. The Kordonowy brothers in particular paired logic and aspirations in such sweet ways that it was hard not to believe their route as the final outcome.
"Let's move to the home yet to meet us"
This was the brilliant pitch that started to sell the world. These brothers believed in shooting for the sky, literally. They sought to begin mass expansion in the hopes that humanity could relocate on another planet with similar habitable qualities.
To give humanity a new soul.
This hard working of an idea prompted a convergence of all of the national governments into one entity committed to survival. They quickly adopted the Global Alliance Pact and began working. Within 3 years a clear plan for survival and relocation had been established and by the year 2350 massive ships, dedicated to relocating humanity to the new planet, had been constructed and tested. It was then humanity would once again pack into a metaphorical arc to be delivered into a new world. Fittingly enough it was agreed that this new planet would be named Neo Sol.
After a 23 year voyage humanity was once again able to breathe a global-sized sigh of relief and rebuild their future from the ground up. This tranquility was nice, but ultimately short-lived. Over the course of the next century human nature would prove that it was once again peace’s number one enemy. Greedy bureaucrats and corrupt stakeholders would come back out of the woodworks to lay their fangs into planetary affairs. At the very least this time around we actually valued preserving our planet.
This cycle of depravity is truly one to behold. One that can consume you if you let it become your master. As for myself? I like to keep life simple. I just strive to be happy and keep those I care about safe. Trying to go against the grain is surely just a method to guarantee a life full of hardships. Neo Sol may as well eventually suffer the same fate as Earth but the least I can do is get the maximum enjoyment during the century that I'll be a part of this cacophony.
lyrics
Intro
slaves
Verse 1
Awaken soldiers of the night
And strike with vigor ending all that's right
Leave no survivors, children of the light
For they must suffer and pay for their plight
Chorus
Enslaved
To pain
Decay
Remnants of tranquility
Endless
Misery
Dismay
The slaves of depravity
Bridge
Who are you to judge us
You aren't free from fault
We try and still fail
Remember you can't play god
Verse 2
Be-low the ruins of a world renowned
Now stripped and barren, disposed of all soul
Void of shelter, devoid of the life once known
And left broken, clinging to shattered hope
Chorus
Enslaved
To pain
Decay
Remnants of tranquility
Endless
Misery
Dismay
The slaves of depravity
Outro
These are wells without water, clouds driven by a storm, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever. For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who are indeed escaping from those who live in error; promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption;

If you told me that Dischordia shared members with Dysrhythmia I'd believe it without checking. Angular, dissonant constructions that give no fucks about human enjoyment. I need more. Ghuughra
